My Droid Is Awake

I got a new phone, if you can call it that in such simple terms.  I got the new motorola droid, and it’s awesome.  Let me qualify this by saying I don’t care if you think the iphone is the best.  I’m not on at&t and I don’t care if it “kills” the iphone, I love it.  If you want an awesome product review, I am not the person to do it, I’m just writing because I think it’s an awesome phone for me.

The oem battery lasted about two days, so not bad.  I did however, order and just received the extended battery, and a new “golla” bag case, I was very disappointed that the phone doesn’t really fit in the case with the new giant battery.  But I like the case so I’m keeping it for the ipod.  But, the double battery size is kind of convenient in that it makes holding the phone a little easier.

I also bought the screen protectors from the store, the 12.99 for three.  Much to my dismay, and contrary to the sales rep’s advise, they are not needed, at all.  Apparently, the touch screen is real glass, it isn’t scratched easily, and even motorola doesn’t recommend a screen protector because it’s not needed.  Thanks Verizon lady for recommending a product I absolutely didn’t need.  I had the htc touch about two years ago, and I did have a screen protector for it, but I just don’t need it for the droid.  It even feel heavy duty, it’s a metal case, and it doesn’t feel fragile, unlike my htc or my blackberry did.

I’m not going to get into apps really, there are a million sited with reviews, but I can say that the dolphin browser DOES have pinch zoom, and yes, watching youtube and other videos is awesome!  The sound is good, and the video quality is great.

I love my new phone, I lost my 3380 curve, so when I got the replacement, I simply gave it to my wife and at the same time, got an early upgrade for the droid.  Happy lawyering, I’m off to my crappy hardware store job.

I’m glad to see you’re a little happier for now, I feel for you, family disasters are a law students worst enemy. Keep your head up, you seem to have a very realistic and thoughtful head on your shoulders. It’s tough out here, keep trudging through.

At the same time as I like a bodily keyboard, after handling the Samsung Captivate for roughly quarter-hour, it’s laborious to go back. Right now I’m debating whether to visit Verizon for the Droid X, move to Dash for the EVO, or stay with AT&T for the Captivate…selections, decisions.
