I'm all for tweaking my writing for a judge, court, or how a partner wants it, but when I'm learning how to generally start out to become an attorney, after I pass the bar, I don't want to relearn stuff that could have been grounded in law school. On a second note, you are right, it is good that before I take the bar and get an actual law job that I figured out that there is no right way except for how the person paying me wants it.
